I’ve been telling everyone, “EAT PURPLE POTATOES!” Before the fast food era Okinawans had the highest life expectancy recorded in the world. 67% of their daily diet was purple sweet potatoes as well as less than 3% was meat.

I think it’s time to ditch the old orange sweet potatoes that aren’t really doing us much good.

What about the fight against cancer?

We all know by now that naturally grown purple foods like beets, blue berries, black berries, plums and grapes are like magic for your body to block cancer or fight it off. “A Kansas State University researcher is studying the potential health benefits of a specially bred purple sweet potato because its dominant purple color results in an increased amount of anti-cancer components.” There are more and more studies being done to confirm the cancer fighting abilities of purple sweet potatoes. In the meantime, give your body the nutrients it so deserves and eat one purple sweet potato a day, at least two a week.
